My MacBook won't let me open any thread -- gives me he warning that's there is malware ahead and no option to load anyway.

Doesn't happen on my IPad.

Any idea what is going on?

A lot of browsers are giving this warning LG. The tech team has been working on it for a while. I don't have much more to tell you about it, although there is discussion about it starting about halfway down the first page of this thread http://www.marriageadvocates.com/ubbthre...m_MA#Post427049

AR has conducted a very time-consuming search for any problems we might have that would earn such a warning from Google and has found none. She has therefore requested that Google reassess that action, and we are awaiting the results.

Stay tuned.

Other websites on UBB are having this same problem,
although I have yet to find a solution to the issue.
I am wondering if it could also be a host issue.

Somehow I will be surprised if google answers us.

I also got this message on facebook MA

using safari and yahoo the site is clear and accessible
at Tuesday 5:22pm 8/15/17

I have no idea why we were ever flagged by Google's algorithm. They do not release the details for good reason. That would help malware authors to circumvent the detection.

However, we were never hacked, and we didn't have malware. The only page that was flagged was a page on SunnyD's thread (yes, a very old one). We were unable to find any problem with it.

After my analysis, I submitted a request for Google to re-analyze the page. They do so at their own pace and at their own discretion.

According to our Google Analytics, our site is no longer flagged. In fact, if you go here, Google will tell you that no unsafe content is found on Marriage Advocates. (However, some specific thread pages in UBB will return a problem.)

Edit: Updated with more specific information after additional research.

So, no malware or hacking or anything that can harm our devices, right?

When you start talking UBB pages, whoosh! Right over my head, lol.

If we happen to visit those UBB pages, will we have a problem? Do we need to know which pages to stay away from?

Thanks for figuring all this out for us, AR. You don't know what you've got until it's gone, and all that. smile

LW,

UBB Threads is the software that the forum is built on. It is used by many forums in several countries. We've asked Google to recheck the site but they don't seem to be in a hurry to do it.

I can tell you that the site hasn't been hacked and no malicious code or links have been found. AR even made changes to remove custom stuff that isn't part of the "standard" software package in case the Google algorithm was flagging something because it was unkown.

I can also tell you that Norton still rates us as safe and the only issue is with Google and it's products and those who rely on Google for their reports. The browsers that block the site are Chrome (a Google product), Some versions of Firefox (gets its site info from Google) and some versions of Safari. I get through without issue using Opera, Microsoft Edge and IE in two versions and Dolphin. My Samsung Android browser also gets in with no problems. I use two versions of Android and two versions of Windows and the only time I have a warning is when I use Firefox or Chrome on any platform.

I installed two different safe browsing plug ins on two devices and run three different virus and malware packages that monitor in real time. In recent weeks I have looked at nearly every page of the sit, even checked the links, and nothing triggered any response, except for Google using Chrome and Firefox.

Chrys - I wish I could tell you when the warning will go away. We have checked everything on the site, even stuff that hasn't changed in years. Unfortunately, the ball is in Google's court.
