Our members have had a love/hate relationship with the Grinch Box. It sounds like a good idea, unless they're the ones spending the holidays in it. Like the Penalty Box, members can't participate on the forum for the duration of their stay--and depending on when the infraction occurs, that could potentially be weeks.
The other thing members get very upset about is that the decision cannot be overturned. Once you go, you're stuck there until after the holidays with no appeal. Since it doesn't affect the permanent status of our members, the moderators act quickly and decisively in order to make the holidays helpful and peaceful for everyone...so post with that in mind.
Please remember that it's easy to avoid and not that serious. So even if you do slip, be a good sport about it--it's just temporary!
