I got a bunch of the marital stuff back today. It turns out that my ex moved it all to his ex's property, on a ranch up in drug country.

My given son has been calling and coming over a lot. I just love that guy to death, as much as my natural sons. Just having him in my life has been worth all of the trouble and tears.

Anyway, my ex left all of the vehicles in my name. So I now have a 1965 Ford 100, a 1974 Harley shovelhead, and a 1955 Triumph chopper. Also I got a whole truckload of other stuff.

Forgot to say that my sons all went together to get the stuff. They asked me to go, but I didn't feel like seeing all of the reminders of my failed marriage.

But when they arrived, my given son was out spray painting the back gate of the truck. His father had written "Lonesome Loser" on it, and my given son said it had always made him angry and he didn't want me to see it.

The weirdest thing they brought back was a house made out of wood that my ex had made. It's a house with windows, a yard, and a picket fence. It has "Home Sweet Home" written over the front door. When you open the door, there's a picture of me sitting in my ex's lap.

I've never seen the house before, so have no idea why he built it.

*hugs*

I get a bit sad when I hear about your ex B, he was so determined to cake eat. He seems to have filed you under nostalgia

It was a very strange feeling. I think most of you know that Joe, the OW's ex husband, is still my neighbor. I saw him while walking the dog last week, and he was happy and excited. The affair started when he was in Iraq in the reserves. He came home to no wife, and no job, and a daughter to raise on his own.

Anyway, he struggled for 2 years, but got back into active duty and has now been given another tour in Dubai. He absolutely loves it there and is looking forward to going. His happy face is juxtaposed in my mind with the image of "Lonesome Loser" on the tailgate of my ex's truck.

Sounds to me like your ex wallowed in the victim role (even as he was the perpetrator), while Joe worked through his problem and is actively enjoying life.

Yeah...karma.

Whatever happened to the daughter Joe was raising?

Oh, she's now in college at UCSB (Santa Barbara), in a pre-med program. She's doing well.

Joe sounds like a good guy, and a really good dad.

Sorry you've had to deal with all that "stuff" coming back into your life. An upheaval for everyone. hug

Believer, I'm glad the boys went to get the stuff, and that you have such an awesome relationship with them. hug I know the other stuff may bring back some old feelings but you're in a good space and it will all fall into perspective.
