I'm not a TV person (and have never seen Princess Bride) but I LOVE this show.

Eye candy aside, I like that the format doesn't invite gratuitous criticism. I didn't like the meanness I saw sometimes on American Idol -- I'd think "his poor mother!"

My favorite judge is Adam and, seriously, that is based solely on the music. I am all about the music -- that he is adorably ADD and sexy as hell is irrelevant to me.

Don't have a favorite singer yet -- I need to start taking notes seeing as how I no longer have a short term memory.

Anyone else like this show?

I love Adam Levine, and he is the only reason I like "The Voice".

Have you seen his "Payphone" video on Youtube? He looks just as good as a buttoned down bank employee as he does in his racier videos. That song keeps going through my mind, day after day.

I don't know that show. At first I thought you were talking about The View. Sorry. (I don't watch a lot of reality shows or those context things nowadays.)

You really should rectify that situation about the PB though... hmmm, I never noticed before that the Princess Bride has the same initials as the Penalty Box *and* peanut butter! No wonder y'all thought I was part of a PB conspiracy... smile

But think about it. How many movies have fans who can quote the whole thing? I can think of two right now: Rocky Horror and PB. I don't think people even sit around quoting Star Wars, do they? Maybe Yodaisms, but not entire scenes...

Sorry. You mentioned Princess Bride. I'll shut up now. smile

I LOVE the auditions.

But I hate where they pit people on the same team against each other.

Soooo, you aren't all talking about the voice that talks to you in your head like my litte voice..... laugh1
I had to say it...no I don't have that

I have no idea what shows you are all talking about

I have noticed on some ads on tv it seems a popular thing now for the men and women to have this little pathetic scratchy sounding voice, and I am thinking get yourself checked for thyroid cancer people.

Speaking of voices, have any of you seen the Glee episodes where Becky, the girl with Down's Syndrome, would do a voice-over in her head? In real life, she sounds like you'd expect, but in her voice-over in her mind, she has this beautiful, British accent. It's such a hoot!

I saw that episode (or one of them, if there's more than one). I thought it was very poignant!

I love "The Voice". I've seen both previous seasons. If I looked like Adam Levine, getting first dates would not be an issue. That is one good looking guy.

I'm such a huge fan of the concept of the show. People getting to live their dream based on their talent, not their looks. The talent on that show is unbelievable!

My husband and I both love "The Voice." We've been watching since its premiere last year. My husband has downloaded music from it (which is really remarkable) and looked up contestants after they are off the show.

I love the mix of the judges...and I didn't know Blake Shelton from Adam (heehee) when the show began...and now, I adore them. Thinking about Ceelo's pink moluccan cockatoo actually got me settled down during a recent filling at the dentist.

smile

I agree with Cat about the battle rounds. Until this season, it was the toughest part for us to watch. With the new "steal" feature, it is so much better, I think. It's a wonderful addition to the show.

Oh, and Cat about Becky's voice in her mind...I thought it was brilliantly funny for Helen Mirren to do her thoughts. I got a giggle reading your post again about it...it's just that good.

I think we love it for the talent and direction as much as the interaction between the judges. We laugh a lot during the show. I've come to know Maroon 5's music, Ceelo's and Blake's through this show--being a really old lady...and I'm super impressed with the famous voice coaches they picked this year, also.

I gotta say that I love Adam's battle-round makeover. The darker hair and different hair-style (maybe darker make up or a tan?)...omg. He now rivals Cary Grant. Seriously. I really like who he is so much...it's like his looks have now caught up to the inside. And that blows me away!

Thank you for this thread...and the lol I got from Tink's post, today.

LA

P.S. I am a PB fanatic. I would only acronym it with TPB, though. LG, it's the perfect movie. It's flawless. Rob Reiner (my dearest meathead) made a classic. I highly recommend this movie, even if you don't see yourself as a TV person. I'll think of folks on this thread next Monday when I'm watching The Voice...and smile a little broader.

You know what I like about Adam so much? He and his band were a band when they were in high school. But then they all decided to go away to their respective colleges and get their degrees and reconnect once they all graduated. And that's just what they did!

{{{Cat}}}} So good to know. You know you can call me, you goose.

I didn't know that about Adam Levine...thank you. That's so smart! You know what I get the strongest about him? He is passionate about music (all kinds, I think) and always has been. So going away and getting his degree was even tougher, I think.

And I think his passion is another part that makes this show so easy to love.

LG...thank you for starting this thread. smile

I didn't know if you were gone because of your recent tragedies, and didn't want to impose.

I love the Voice, can't wait for the second season over here - not sure when it will be...it was so uplifting last time and I really enjoy the battle rounds.....so much better than the X factor or Britain's got talent.

Our judges were

Sir Tom Jones
Will.i.am
Jessie J
Danny O'Donoghue from the Script

I cannot believe Avery Wilson was eliminated. I though he would win the season. I think itwasa poor song choice.
